An
Introduction to Reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is universal life energy. It is
an ancient healing art, thought to have originated as a Tibetan
Buddhist practice. Is was rediscovered in the late 1800's
by Dr Mikao Usui. A Reiki practitioner can channel this energy.
Here at Glenbrittle we have a Reiki Practitioner
who is now extending her practice to include pets.
Reiki flows via the practitioner's hands,
going to where it is needed most in the person or animal receiving
the Reiki energy.
It can be used on both people and animals
with rewarding results.
During a Reiki
session, with your pet, the Reiki energy will:
- Seek out all areas in the body that are out of balance or
in need of healing
- Facilitate energy, allowing it to flow into the areas of
the animal's body that are in distress
- Often bring about deep relaxation
Reiki is often used as a way to reduce stress
and help in relaxation and promote a general sense of well-being.
N.B. Reiki is not a substitute for
seeking Veterinary advice; always consult your Vet if you
are concerned about your pet's health.
Reiki facilitates healing on all levels,
physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. However to what
degree is entirely dependent on each individual.
The laying on of hands in Reiki is to share
the gift of healing with your pet.
